Dear PMSA Members, Welcome to the PMSA Website. Plan to come back often this year as we are designing some modifications to provide you with a tremendous resource for managing your research and networking with the community. Our 2008 conference has been our best attended conference to date, and the feedback has been very positive. If you were not able to join us in Las Vegas, then we hope to see you in San Diego in 2009 or for our tutorial in January at a location TBD. As a member of the board, I have been impressed by the care in preparation of the program for each year’s conference and tutorials. Every decision is based on the feedback from members, and if there are topics that you would like to see addressed next year, please let us know. PMSA belongs to you, our members. For 2009, there are a couple of objectives for PMSA that are worth sharing: 1) Provide a robust attendance to our meetings, represented well from manufacturers and their consultants, with a renewed attention to those at less-represented manufacturers, international members, and academics: Fresh perspectives are valuable and welcomed. 2) Build the PMSA brand: We realize that members have many choices of meetings to attend each year. Like the brands for which we work so hard to support, we want PMSA to be top-of-mind when it comes to making a conference selection for the year. Marketing efforts will become more strategic, including enhancements to the logo, website, communications, and co-promotional agreements. 3) Become the premier resource for management science in the pharmaceutical industry: Efforts will be made to increase benefits to members beyond the conference and tutorial, including downloadable resources, job board updates, and year-round networking opportunities. If your contact information has changed and you would like to continue to receive our conference bulletins, please send your new information to Katharine McMullen (

The 2009 board is committed to doing everything we can to bring you great value, realizing that researchers need collaboration, resources, and innovation. We look forward to working hard to support our membership for another year. Warmest Regards, Daniel J. Message from the PMSA Secretary
2008 has been a year of many transitions within the industry. Since the main conference, this has affected our Board in the following ways: Andy Aiken has taken a role on the consulting side of the industry and as a result has stepped down from his role as president, serving instead in the past president role along with Chung Ma. Bin Li has also moved away from working for a pharma manufacturer, and will be working on a private venture; thus, he has resigned from the Board. Jennifer Ding of Novartis has joined the Board in the role of Member Relations. Please see the "Board" tab to the left to see how the roles have shifted for the existing Board members. |
