MESSAGE FROM THE PMSA PRESIDENT

Hello my fellow analytics professionals! I hope you're staying cool during this roasting hot summer.

I have a few small announcements for you:

  1. Emails from PMSA will now come from This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Please add this sender to your whitelist so we don't fall into your spam filter.
  2. Our summer edition newsletter is out. Please look under the "Resources" tab, "Newsletter" option. Simply click on the file to download the .pdf.
  3. The photo gallery is up and running!  If you had tried previously to look at photos and had no luck, try again!  Please let us know if you encounter any issues but everything should be working fine now.
  4. The Call for Abstracts for the 2011 main conference will be going out soon. This year, rather than emailing in your submissions, you'll be able to upload them directly to the website for the program committee to pick up. This will ensure that none get lost in cyberspace. I'm really pleased about this change!
  5. Our January symposium will be held in Princeton and will be centered around managed care analytics. Our Professional Development Committee is working on putting together an excellent program for you. An agenda should be available in October.
  6. We have heard feedback from several of you that you'd like to see more participation from academics in our conferences. Unfortunately, the timing of our main conference has traditionally not worked well with academic schedules. Good news! For 2012 forward, we will shift our conference dates to better accomodate our professors and grad students. In 2012, in accordance with your vote (thanks to those who completed our survey) we are planning for dates in late May.
As always, the board wants your input. If you have questions, comments, suggestions, or any other sort of input, please don't hesitate to e-mail us. I am happy to hear from you at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Okay, that's all for now. Have a frosty beverage and watch out for the sun!
