Sandy Balkin, Ph.D.

Senior Director, Global Insights and Analytics, Sanofi

Sandy Balkin, Ph.D. is Senior Director, Global Insights and Analytics with Sanofi. He is responsible for the identification, development and scaling of new data and analytic capabilities that support R&D, medical and commercial decision making.

Prior to joining Sanofi, Sandy built best-in-class analytics functions at two consultancies as Vice President of Analytics and Commercial Effectiveness with Aptus Health and as Senior Principal with Precision for Value. Prior to that, Sandy held a number of roles of increasing responsibility at Boehringer-Ingelheim where he was Executive Director, Forecasting and Business Analytics and at Pfizer as Director/Team Leader of Predictive Modeling, building and leading teams responsible for providing forecasting and strategic support to key corporate functions including BD&L, marketing, finance, market research, new product planning and sales.

Sandy has a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Penn State University. He also holds a Master of Arts in Statistics from Penn State University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mathematics and Economics and Music from Lafayette College where he graduated with honors.



Michel Denarie

Senior Principal, Data Scientist, Strategic Drug Development, IQVIA

Michel Denarié, after serving for several years as global COE for Patient Insights, recently joined the Strategic Drug Development team at IQVIA, a group that designs clinical trials, develops clinical development plans, reviews protocols, and conducts licensing candidate due diligence for biopharma sponsors. He is leveraging the various secondary data assets available across the globe to enhance trial design, protocol validation, country selection, and accelerate patient recruitment . His area of expertise covers all the legacy IQVIA real world data assets that can be leveraged world-wide to support clinical development. Denarié received his MS from American University and MBA from the Darden School of Business, University of Virginia.

Martim Goncalves

Global Solutions Manager, IQVIA

Martim Goncalves is a Project Manager with +10 years' experience in Pharma, Financial Services, and Energy at Roche, Novartis, Deloitte Consulting (Strategy & Ops), and UMS Advisory. Martim has led transformation projects (cost-cutting, efficiency improvement) and revenue-enhancement engagements (business development , sales revamp) in Europe, Latin America and Africa. He is business proficient in five languages with an MBA from IESE Business School.



Shubham Lahoti

Associate Director, Axtria

Shubham Lahoti has more than 11 years of experience in analytics, modeling, and technology projects with close to 6 years in sales and marketing optimization in the pharma industry. Shubham has managed several sales force analytics projects that involve multi-channel promotional analysis and optimization. He holds a bachelors degree from IIT Bombay.



Shreyas Murthi

Principal, ZS

Shreyas Murthi is a Principal with ZS in the San Francisco, CA office. He has 12+ years of experience in leading a variety of sales and marketing engagements with biopharmaceutical companies, with a focus on specialty therapeutics and Oncology. Shreyas has partnered with clients to address launch issues including forecasting, customer segmentation and targeting, marketing analytics, commercial organization design, incentive compensation, and sales force effectiveness. In addition, Shreyas has significant expertise in using patient level data analytics such as claims and EMR for developing market and customer insights. He has been active with PMSA at conferences and was also featured on a PMSA member spotlight in 2015. Shreyas holds an MBA in Marketing and Strategy from Haas School of Business at University of California at Berkeley. He also has an MS in Management Information Systems from Texas A&M University and a BS in Computer Engineering.



Igor Rudychev

Sr. Business Insights Director, Immuno-Oncology, AstraZeneca

Igor Rudychev is Sr. Director of Immuno-Oncology Business Insights with AstraZeneca. Igor has over 24 years of analytics experience and for the last 17 years he has been specializing in Pharmaceutical Sales & Marketing Analytics, Business Insights, Resource Allocation, Promotion Response, SF Optimization, Brand Analytics, Patient-Level Data, and Forecasting.

Currently, Igor is responsible for Immuno-Oncology Business Insights & Analytics at AstraZeneca. Prior to joining AstraZeneca Igor was leading Samples Operations, Resource Allocation, Advanced Analytics, and Commercial Assessment & Forecasting at Pfizer. Before Pfizer, Igor was Vice President of Operations with Bayser, a Management Consulting firm in Chicago, where he provided strategic and analytical insights to the top 20 global pharmaceutical companies.

Igor has been a member of PMSA for over 13 years and has presented at multiple PMSA conferences. He has also been published extensively in trade & peer review journals (including ASCO, WCLC, Journal of Clinical Oncology, Journal of Thoracic Oncology, AMCP, MMM, PDT, Phys. Lett., Class. & Quant. Grav., and Nuclear Physics B).

Igor has an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics (Superstring Theory & Black Holes) from Texas A&M University.

Igor has served PMSA’s board for three years, as the Professional Development Chair and Research and Education Chair.



Jessica Santos

Global Compliance and Quality Director, Kantar Health

Dr. Jessica Santos is the Global Compliance Director in Kantar Health, a leading global healthcare consulting and market research firm in the life sciences industry. Jessica is primarily responsible for providing oversight and support across the 40+ Kantar Health (KH) global offices in the area of regulation, interaction with clients, suppliers and others within Kantar Health, Kantar and WPP. Dr. Santos is also an experienced statistician, analyst and methodologist. She gained her reputation through her publications and professional committee work in the industry. Jessica is a frequent speaker and contributor in major conferences. She has a PhD in Marketing and MRS fellowship. Dr. Santos is a member of BHBIA Ethics Committee, EphMRA Compliance Network, UK Research Ethics Committee, Insights Association and Intellus Committee, reviewer and chair of ISPOR (International Society of Pharmaco-economic and Outcome Research) Code of Conduct Committee with patient representatives.



Jennifer Soller

Impact Excellence Lead, Genentech

Jennifer Soller is currently the Impact Excellence Lead for US Medical Affairs at Genentech. She spent the previous 7 years in that company’s Commercial organization, leading teams within the Marketing Science center of excellence. Prior to joining Genentech, she worked in predictive analytics for various industries, including online gaming, investment banking, and the government. She is energized by working on complex, strategic problems that don’t have quick or easy-to-identify solutions, and coaching and mentoring her reports and others to grow and develop.



Chris Teale

Senior Vice President, Gfk

Chris joined GfK in 2011 bringing with him extensive practical and academic experience within the pharmaceutical industry, across both Marketing and R&D, over a 30 year career.

He has held a number of leadership positions at both Global and European level, having previously been Director of Global Pricing and Market Access (Oncology) at Astra Zeneca; Director Health Economics, Pricing, Reimbursement and Access at Allergan; Commercial Planning Manager at Fisons, and Portfolio Planning Manager at Ciba-Geigy (Novartis) in Switzerland.

Within GfK, Chris leads the European Oncology and Personalised Healthcare (PHC)) Practices and is also Lead on Global Biosimilar Strategy and War Gaming / Competitive Simulation Projects.

Chris holds a BSc degree in Mathematics from Newcastle University, and also studied at Loughborough University (Management Information Systems) and INSEAD Business School (Marketing for International Business).



J.P. Tsang

President, Bayser

Jean-Patrick Tsang is the Founder and President of Bayser, a Chicago-based consulting firm dedicated to pharmaceuticals sales and marketing. JP is an expert in patient-level data and related analyses ranging from longitudinal analyses to hospital-retail spillover, KOL identification, influence mapping, referral networks, molecular targeting, promotion response, and the like. JP publishes and talks on a regular basis and runs one-day tutorials several times a year. In a previous life, JP deployed Artificial Intelligence to automate the design of payloads for satellites, methaners, ethaners, and cruise-liners. JP earned a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence from Grenoble University and an MBA from INSEAD in France. He was the recipient of the 2015 PMSA Lifetime Achievement Award.



Mark Turner

Principal, ZS Associates

Mark Turner is the EU Customer Centric Marketing (CCM) lead for ZS Europe. He brings over 25 years of direct marketing experience, specializing in the development and operational delivery of data driven, consumer centric strategies. Over the last couple of years, Mark has been helping Pharma companies across region Europe drive value from the delivery of relevant, timely and personalized customer engagement. Most recently, he has led initiatives that design and deploy customer journeys, orchestrated across channels, to improve engagement and experience among HCPs which result in maximizing impact for Pharma clients.
