Viswa Balasubramanian, Vice President of Analytics & Architecture, Symphony Health

As a VP Advanced Analytics Architecture, Viswa Balasubramanian is responsible for architecting Symphony’s next generation analytics applications. In his role, Viswa develops new strategies & implements algorithms to mine our volumes of data.

Viswa has over 18 years of experience spanning analytics, machine learning, application development & software engineering. Prior to working with Symphony, he has worked with several organizations in the healthcare space including Focus Diagnostics & IMS Health. Viswa has designed & developed several complex systems including “The (microbiology) Surveillance Network”, Electronic Lab & Clinical Analytics Architecture framework.

Viswa has earned his degree in Electrical engineering but has made Healthcare and Life Sciences his professional career.


Sravan Kumar Bhamidipati, Director, Decision Sciences, Axtria

Sravan Bhamidipati is a Director in Decision Sciences at Axtria. Sravan has over 10 years of analytics and consulting experience in the pharma Industry. He has rich experience in conducting secondary data analytics, predictive modeling and applying Machine Learning techniques on patient data – including patient pharma / medical claims, electronic health records in a variety of therapeutic areas like oncology, cardiovascular diseases, etc. Sravan has expertise in using a wide mix of analytical tools for building Machine Learning solutions on Patient Claims/EHR data using Python, R and h20.ai.


Vijay Chickarmane, Manager, Decision Sciences, Axtria

Vijay Chickarmane is a Manager in Decision Sciences at Axtria. Vijay develops innovative solutions to pharma management science problems. His focus area is in developing Machine Learning models based upon patient level data and other data sources to extract insights that are actionable for brand marketing teams. Prior to his career at Axtria, Vijay spent two years as a consultant in a large consulting firm as part of their Machine Learning division, where he developed predictive models to answer complex problems in a variety of industries including healthcare, auto insurance, energy, and finance. Before that he was a research scientist at Caltech where he developed computational models using techniques such as agent-based simulations, network inference and applied mathematical modeling to understand stem cell gene regulatory and signaling networks. Vijay earned a PhD in theoretical physics and has contributed towards data analysis and detector simulation to high energy physics projects. He has authored over 40 well-regarded and highly-cited publications in data analysis and mathematical modeling as applied to problems in physics and biology.


Dr. Harietta Eleftherochorinou, Senior Principal, Machine Learning & AI Solutions, Real World & Analytics Solutions, IQVIA

Dr. Harietta Eleftherochorinou leads globally the design and development of large-scale Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology solutions in IQVIA. She has over 15 years of experience in transforming drug development and healthcare using ML/AI, one patient at a time. Highlights of her work include large-scale big-data lake implementations for ML/AI-enabled commercial applications in big pharma; Real-World ML/AI technology platforms for scalable disease diagnostics, disease progression predictions, physician targeting; ML-led forecasting for increased precision, innovative patient-physician targeting applications for drug addressable market realization. Harietta has achieved several distinctions throughout her career, including prestigious Welcome Trust and European Union awards for early research on ML/AI-led diagnostics, the Deloitte Outstanding Achievement for exceptional client delivery and the UK Cloud Award of the Year on Innovation in Big Data Analytics. She is invited as a speaker to several commercial and academic forums and has published multiple scientific papers in world class, peer reviewed journals. Academically, she holds an MEng in Electrical and Computer Engineering (Hons); an MSc in Bioinformatics and Systems Biology (Distinction) and a PhD in Medicine from Imperial College London.


Kent Groves, PhD, VP Global Health Strategy, Merkle Health

Kent is a Vice President of Strategy, and leads Merkle’s Global Health Strategy practice. He has been consulting in the areas of pharmaceutical and animal health strategy for more than 15 years. He is published extensively in a variety of journals including, Research in Social and Administrative Pharmacy, Formulary, the Journal of Clinical Pharmacy and Therapeutics, and the Journal of Database Marketing. Kent is recognized as a subject matter expert in the area of factors influencing physician prescribing, is the author of several white papers, and most recently was the lead author for the chapter on Prescribing Behavior in Social and Behavioral Aspects of Pharmaceutical Care, 3rd Edition, published in 2016.

Kent has worked with a number of clients in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, and animal health vertical including Sanofi (Genzyme, Chattem and Merial), AstraZeneca, GSK, Elanco, Novartis, Abbvie, BMS, Boehringer Ingelheim, Merck and Gilead, focusing on engagement and communication strategy in the US, Canada, Europe and Australasia. He has a PhD in Pharmaceutical Strategy and Policy from Dalhousie University in Halifax, NS, and holds the position of Assistant Professor, Clinical Pharmacy, at the James L Winkle College of Pharmacy, University of Cincinnati.


Karin Hayes, Principal, Symphony Health Solutions

Karin Hayes leads the design and execution of innovative analytics and advanced statistical modeling solutions to enhance market marketing and sales effectiveness utilizing healthcare encounter insights. Previously, Karin has been in product development, product management and marketing roles for 14 years with Symphony Health and prior acquired companies.

Previously Karin worked for Oncology Therapeutics Network (OTN), an oncology specialty pharmacy distributor, where she was Director of Information Services and E-Commerce. She was instrumental in developing and marketing oncology treatment applicatgions, tools and services to the pharmaceutical industry. She also developed customer facing web services for OTN’s award winning website, Lynx2OTN. Karin also has over 15 years of pharmaceutical industry experience. She progressed through sales and sales management positions before taking responsibility for key integrated health care customers in California. In this role, Karin assisted customers in developing and implementing quality improvement assessments and programs, pharmacy management analysis tools and disease management technology. Her last role at Bristol Myers was leading a multi-departmental team to develop models and processes to enhance customer segmentation, sales forecasting and the measurement of marketing effectiveness.


Scott Hull, Director, US Advanced Analytics, Takeda

Scott Hull has been in the pharmaceutical industry for almost 28 years. He leads a team of data scientists to support US Commercial Strategies at Takeda, including: Market Access, Multi-Channel Marketing, Patient Analytics, Patient Services, Lifecycle Analytics, and Field Force Analytics.

His past roles have included: Sales and Marketing Analytics, Incentive Compensation, Sales Force Automation, HR, Sample Management and Sales, at J&J, Eli Lilly, Abbott, Hospira, IMS and Shire (now Takeda).

Interesting Tidbit…During his tenure in Sales, Scott met his future wife to-be, one of the Internists he called on. They are celebrating their 20th year of marriage this year.


Ewa Kleczyk, Vice President, Client Analytics, Symphony Health

Dr. Ewa Kleczyk is a Vice President leading the Client Analytics group at Symphony Health, PRA Health Sciences. Ewa has more than 15 years of experience in pharmaceutical market research, having worked on both primary & secondary side of the research area. With her broad experience in commercial effectiveness, digital & media analytics, as well as forecasting & promotional impact measurement, she has become one of the industry-widely recognized leaders in the pharmaceutical marketing research area.

Ewa is also a highly sought-after conference speaker with her experience speaking at the leading industry conferences, including HBA, PMSA, PMRG, Marketing Research Association, Economics and Business Conference and Harvard University & DTC Perspectives. She also has published in multiple academic & industry journals and is a board member of several peer-reviewed publications, including the PMSA Journal. Ewa has been an active advocate of mentoring future women leaders of the pharma industry for which she has been recognized with multiple leadership awards, including HBA’s ‘Rising Star’ & ‘Luminary’ recognitions.

Ewa has earned her PhD in Economics from Virginia Tech and has been a part-time graduate faculty in the School of Economics at the University of Maine.


John Lin, Senior Vice President, Analytic Sciences, Epsilon Health

John is a Senior Vice President in the Analytic Consulting Group at Epsilon. He leads the analytic sciences practice that supports Epsilon’s Healthcare clients. He has over 25 years of experience in predictive modeling, targeting/segmentation, measurement and profiling with the most recent twelve years focused on consulting in the pharmaceutical industry. John specializes in the tactical implementation of statistical tools and techniques to maximize the efficiency of clients’ marketing efforts. His areas of expertise include machine learning/AI, modeling techniques, experimental design and patient-level data (PLD) analyses.

John is a long-time member of PMSA and he is frequent speaker at various conferences including many PMSA Conferences and Symposiums. John has an M.S. from University of Mississippi in Mathematics and an M.S. and an A.B.D from University of Memphis in Applied Statistics.


Olympia Mantsios, Associate Director, Analytics, Merkle Health

Olympia has been with Merkle since 2014, and holds the position of Associate Director of Analytics. Olympia has extensive experience with marketing analytics across both consumer and HCP campaigns. During her tenure with Merkle, she has worked with a variety of clients, across a number of different therapeutic areas and a number of brands at different stages of their product lifecycle. Her experience includes work leading accounts focused on Diabetes, Oncology, Multiple Sclerosis, and Dermatology. Her clients have grown to depend on her cross therapeutic insight, and unique perspective leveraging analytics to develop actionable (and measurable) strategy. She is a contributor to Merkle’s Health Thought Leadership panel, and sought after across teams for her perspective and insight. Prior to joining Merkle, OIympia had roles at Digitas Health and Saatchi Health, where she focused on digital marketing analytics in areas of Women’s Health, Arthritis, Multiple Sclerosis, COPD, and others.

Olympia holds an MBA in Marketing from Baruch College, City University of New York.


Arif Nathoo, CEO and Co-Founder, Komodo Health

Arif Nathoo, M.D., is co-founder & chief executive officer at Komodo Health where he oversees data sciences, engineering, and product development initiatives for the company. He has spent the past 15 years in healthcare and life sciences leadership roles. Before Komodo Health, Arif was a leader in McKinsey's Healthcare practice where he was responsible for helping enterprise healthcare address issues in corporate strategy, finance, sales and marketing, and organization building. He co-led McKinsey's Medical Affairs Practice, which created analytic products and services to improve non-promotional engagement between industry and providers.

He has conducted research in novel instructional technologies and medical devices, with multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals. Arif graduated magna cum laude with Highest Honors from Harvard University with an A.M. in molecular and cellular biology, an M.D. from Harvard Medical School, and M.P.A. in health policy from Harvard Kennedy School.


Rajkumar Rajabathar, Engagement Manager, Symphony Health Solutions

Rajkumar Rajabathar (RB) uses his 8 years of experience in providing high impact consulting services for pharmaceutical companies. He is passionate about using his knowledge of business, math, data & technology to solve complex business problems through a consultative approach. Expertise includes leading innovative analytics projects in the areas of - closed loop marketing strategy; improving R&D productivity through disparate patient data like claims, EMR, prospective & retrospective clinical trials data; interactive analytics capability for commercial assessments; sales, marketing effectiveness & assessment of incentive compensation plans, RB is well positioned to create impact across cross-functional teams. With his experience, he guides his teams through strategy & analytics projects executed within the commercial effectiveness team. RB holds a bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.


John Ridge, Executive Director, Sales Analytics and Operations, Retrophin

John Ridge has sixteen years of increased exposure and responsibilities in the Bio-pharmaceutical Commercial Sales Operations and Analytical functional areas with proven track record of accomplishments in establishing overall sales promotional strategies and critical infrastructure/systems to support the successful launch of both PCP and Specialty pharmaceutical products in highly competitive and managed markets.


François-Xavier Rousselot, VP of Data Analytics and AI/ML Strategy, Aptus Health

With over 20 years of experience in digital marketing and services, Mr. Rousselot is responsible for setting and executing the company’s strategy around next-gen analytics applications such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and more. Prior to Aptus Health, he worked on applications of Machine Learning and AI across different sectors, with a strong focus on Media Analytics. He has also held analytics positions at the French Embassy in Beirut, the Marketing department of the French telecommunications company SFR, and led cloud computing for F-Secure Corporation (North and Latin America).

Mr. Rousselot is an Affiliate Professor at IE Business School and has experience coaching multinational corporations and startups (TripAdvisor, PWC, HEC and Polytechnique’s Incubator to name a few) on their data projects and helping them sharpen their analytics capabilities. François-Xavier Rousselot is a graduate from HEI (1997) and an alumni of the prestigious IE Business School (International MBA - 2008).


Mehul Shah, Director, Reporting & Analytics, Sanofi

Mehul Shah is a Director at Sanofi. In his current role, he is responsible for Brand Performance Management and Analytics for Diabetes and Cardiovascular Unit. His primary responsibilities include providing analytical support to Brand and Sales Leadership in driving Brand performance and reporting insights to Executive leadership team. His previous experiences include various Marketing support roles including Marketing analytics, Market Research, Sales Operations support and Incentive compensation for both Specialty and Retail Pharmaceutical drugs.

Mehul holds Master Degree in Industrial Engineering from Rutgers University and Bachelors in Operation Research. Mehul lives in Bridgewater, NJ with his wife and two incredible kids. Outside of work he can be found at home spending quality time with family or enjoying freestyle swimming at YMCA.


Ashish Sharma, Principal, Axtria

Ashish Sharma leads the Innovation Lab & Cloud Information Management practice at Axtria. Prior to Axtria, he spent 17 years in Silicon Valley, building platform based companies with large-scale, real-world data, with the goal of building intelligent systems that have real-world impact. Since 2007 he worked on applications of machine learning, NLP, and AI-Powered Consumer insights that supported many projects in the field of Anti-Terrorism, Life Sciences, Biometric and Sensor data.

His work on industrializing use of EMR/EHR data for finding new patient populations using AI/ML was featured at PMSA 2018. He also worked on using Brand Social equity scores for improving the accuracy of sales forecast in Oncology brands, which involved Industrial implantation of NLP and Machine learning.[PMSA 2016, 2017] Some of Ashish’s work led to accurately predicting Oscars in 2011, 2012, and 2013, and the outcome of UK elections in 2010, using AI-Powered Consumer Insights.

His passion for testing various hypothesis around AI-Powered Consumer insights led to crowd sourcing and crowd funding a feature film that is now featured on Netflix. Ashish Holds an MS in Computer Science and studied Entrepreneurial Leadership at Said Business School, University of Oxford.


Eleanor Tipa, Vice President, Analytic Sciences, Epsilon Health

Eleanor is a Vice President in the Analytic Consulting Group at Epsilon. Eleanor has 20 years of experience in marketing analytics across various industries with special focus in the healthcare vertical. She specializes in the design, management, and execution of analytic projects that support the optimization of clients’ multichannel marketing campaigns. Her areas of expertise include the use of advanced statistical techniques in predictive modeling, segmentation and profiling, experimental design, and multichannel campaign performance measurement including media mix models and attribution models.

Eleanor holds a Ph.D. in Statistics from the Pennsylvania State University. Eleanor has given talks in various analytic conferences such as the Conference on Statistical Practice and PMSA.


Fred Trotter, CTO, CareSet

Fred Trotter is a healthcare data journalist and author. He is a founder of CareSet Systems and The DocGraph Journal, and co-author of the first Health IT O’Reilly book Hacking Healthcare. Fred Trotter won the 2016 healthcare data liberator award for his work opening significant healthcare data sets.

Fred’s technical commentary and data journalism work have been featured in several online and print journals including Wired, Forbes, U.S. News, NPR, Government Health IT, and Modern Healthcare. As a technology entrepreneur, he is an alumnus of multiple successful technical startups including Rackspace, Exault (purchased by Verisign), and ClearHealth (the top Open Source EHR company).


Jean-Patrick Tsang, President, Bayser

Jean-Patrick Tsang is the Founder and President of Bayser, a Chicago-based consulting firm dedicated to pharmaceuticals sales and marketing. JP has worked on 250+ projects to date including ROI optimization, data strategy, and segmentation & targeting to mention just these. JP publishes and gives talks on a regular basis and runs one-day classes on various subjects related to data and analysis. In a previous life, JP deployed Artificial Intelligence to automate the design of payloads for satellites and was the adviser of two PhD Students.
