Head of Global Forecasting, COE will build and lead the Global Forecasting COE that is integrated into the Global Strategic Insights (GSI) group and report into the head/VP. The function is to set the frame for forecasting across the organization, providing leadership on core concepts, roles & responsibilities, governance and new tools that will continuously shape how the company values assets and therefore how the company invests in the future.

  • Interact with a diverse set of senior leaders across the organization to influence, challenge and reshape how the company will forecast for launch, thus setting the tone for analytics to support our launches.
  • Enroll others in a shared future and by creating a systematic, standardized forecasting approach to create long-term, market-based and event-driven revenue forecasting for commercial products, pipeline candidates and new business development opportunities.
  • Guide the development of forecasting standards and systematic interactions with regional leadership and operations, global franchise leadership, group strategy, business development and portfolio planning to ensure objective and consistent forecasting processes to guide strategy development and launch readiness.
  • Ensure launch preparedness with forecasting activities and that new processes are developed to ensure clarity of roles and responsibilities for all involved, which will involve identification and deployment of a new forecasting platform across the company.
  • Mentoring and skill development of COE staff and drive implementation of new practices in support of forecasting excellence.
  • Play a leadership role in managing significant operations initiatives within the business unit. Responsible for some key existing operational work streams such as workflow systems, data sharing platforms, and other systems critical to the smooth operations.
  • Ensure rigor, quality and consistency of revenue forecasting for company assets - projects span commercially marketed products, internal pipeline development, in-licensing, M&A, and portfolio and strategic reviews, across all therapy areas, with a heavy focus on launch forecasting.
  • Enable harmonized forecasting approaches across teams, with systematic documentation and transparency of key assumptions underlying the cash flows

Required Skills & Experiences:
  • A minimum of 10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry; specifically building out analytics platform from proof of concept thru rolling out best practices A comprehensive approach to forecasting, with a good understanding of how to integrate secondary data analytics, epidemiology, primary market research and competitive intelligence insights is critical
  • Experience in a broad set of specialty therapy areas preferable
  • Ability to lead a cross-functional discussion in an organized and tactful manner, systematically using supporting information and logic, by building and defending cogent arguments; ability to guide the group to a consensus of opinion
